NEW MUSIC OUT THIS WEEK
Oshawa, Ontario’s Dizzy follows up their JUNO award winning album Baby Teeth with new single, ‘Twist’. Lead singer Katie Munshaw wrote the song in the shower while on tour last year and says it’s about the hold that someone can have over you even after they have left your life. ‘Twist’ is now playing on The Verge.
The Beaches, who we have more big news to share with you below, released their new EP The Professional. This marks the Toronto rockers third EP. They’ve been making waves ever since winning the JUNO award last year for Breakthrough Group Of The Year. The band have become one of Sir Elton John’s favourite groups, opened for Foo Fighters and toured across North America with The Glorious Sons. For their new EP, the band had the opportunity to collaborate with dream producer Jacknife Lee who has worked with The Killers, Weezer and U2.
ARKELLS OPEN FOR THE WHO
Legendary rock band The Who announced some of the Canadian acts to open for them on their 2019 Moving On! North American Tour, including Reignwolf, MOON VS SUN (Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk) and Hamilton’s award-winning rockers Arkells. If you missed Arkells first show in Buffalo with The Who don’t miss them together on May 28th in Detroit.
THE BEACHES & THE GLORIOUS SONS OPEN FOR THE ROLLING STONES
The Rolling Stones No Filter tour has one Canadian tour stop next month at Burl’s Creek in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. The tour was put on hold after lead singer Mick Jagger had heart surgery just last month. With the tour back on, Mick will have 100,000 Canadian fans on hand for support as well as rockers The Glorious Sons and The Beaches, who will be opening the show. The Glorious Sons will get a chance to reunite with their friends from The Rolling Stones, as it will be the one year anniversary since they last opened for the band in Marseille, France.
