During the July 21 episode of Radio Andy’s “The Julia Cunningham Show,” Amy Adams revealed that Kirstie Alley gave her the confidence to move to Los Angeles after they worked together on “Drop Dead Gorgeous.”
“She was like, ‘Yeah, you’re young. You’re funny. You’ll work,’” Amy said. “That was all I needed to hear. It set all of this into motion.”
During the interview, Amy also admitted she still can’t revisit HBO’s “Sharp Objects.”
“That character was one of the hardest ones to sort of get out of my system,” Amy said. “I can sort of feel it in my body where it lives.”
She added, “That character speaks to this darkness that I had to tap into as like a shadow self that I don’t like to visit very often.”
