Discover the final NHL Games of the Week for the 2025-26 Season

NHL
PITTSBURGH, PA - APRIL 17: Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin (8) and Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby (87) skate to the bench during the first period in the NHL game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals on April 17, 2025, at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.

Saturday, April 11th – 4:00 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Edmonton Oilers at Los Angeles Kings

The final Saturday of the 2025-26 NHL regular season features 15 games to choose from, including this matchup between two Pacific Division foes who are very familiar with each other. The Royal Footmen from Southern California have met up with the Oil Workers of Northern Alberta over the past four springs. And each time, the Footmen were dispatched by the Oil Workers. Four straight first-round playoff exits for the Kings. This time around? L.A., which has set an NHL regular-season record for most games going to overtime (and often the shootout), would be happy to make the cut in the “Pillow Fight” they call the wildcard three-legged race in the Western Conference. Oilers’ superstar captain Connor McDavid is leading his team without help from superstar teammate Leon Draisaitl, who may or may not be ready for the first game in the first round. McDavid continues to perform at his very high level of play and is in a three-way jousting battle for the Art Ross Trophy (top NHL point producer) with Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche and Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Not coincidentally, all three of those teams are headed to the 2026 postseason. For the record, the Kings haven’t won a playoff series since winning their second Stanley Cup back in 2014.

Sunday, April 12th – 3:00 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Pittsburgh Penguins at Washington Capitals

Even though they’re now both greybeards, future Hall-of-Fame players Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin each continue to perform and produce at a high level. Is this the last regular-season meeting between these two ageless adversaries? If it is, then we, the hockey fans, are the poorer because of it.  Ovie hasn’t confirmed that this will be his final NHL season, but he is a free agent as of July 1st. Both Ovechkin and Crosby debuted in the NHL way back in the 2005-06 season. The Penguins are a pleasant surprise this season, headed to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Monday, April 13th – 7:00 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Detroit Red Wings at Tampa Bay Lightning

A busy final regular-season Monday night in the NHL, with 10 games on tap.  The Lightning have been in a season-long battle for top spot in the very competitive Atlantic Division. The Red Wings have been in a pitched battle just to claim an Eastern Conference playoff spot. They’ve missed the postseason cut for the past nine years, and now that the Buffalo Sabres have ended their horrendous 14-year playoff drought, that dubious crown falls on the head of Detroit.

Tuesday, April 14th – 7:00 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
New Jersey Devils at Boston Bruins

It’s been a surprising 2025-26 regular season for both these clubs. The Bruins are headed to the postseason. The Devils? They recently parted ways with general manager Tom Fitzgerald, so that’ll tell you things didn’t go as planned. New Jersey has won only one playoff series (2023) since winning the Stanley Cup in 2012. They’ve missed the postseason cut in 10 of the past 13 seasons. The Bruins were tied for last place last season in the Eastern Conference. This time around, with a new head coach (Marco Sturm) and the resurgent play of goaltender Jeremy Swayman, Boston has been in the mix in the tough Atlantic Division and has been sitting in an Eastern wildcard slot for most of the past month.

Wednesday, April 15th – 7:30 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 167
Toronto Maple Leafs at Ottawa Senators

After these two teams met up in the first round of the 2025 playoffs, there were high hopes that The Battle of Ontario would prove to be a real barnburner this season. It didn’t exactly turn out that way. The Maple Leafs could never find their mojo, and after the Winter Olympic break, they lost the plot completely, missing the postseason for the first time in a decade. The loss for the remainder of the season of sniper Auston Matthews (injured against the Ducks on March 12th) just sealed the deal. The Senators should have been in the running for one of the top three spots in the highly competitive Atlantic Division, but unreliable goaltending kept The Boys From Bytown down. An Eastern Wildcard slot is their path to the playoffs.

Thursday, April 16th – 10:30 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Seattle Kraken at Colorado Avalanche

The final night of regular-season action features 6 games, including the final game of the 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season. The Avalanche have been the best team in the circuit for seemingly most of the campaign, though Dallas and Minnesota have kept it relatively close in the top-heavy Central Division. Nonetheless, Colorado will enter their first-round series as the heavy favourite to win that series, heck, to win it all. The Kraken flirted with a playoff spot for most of the season, but recent setbacks have put the dream of their second-ever Stanley Cup Playoff invite on hold.  To that end, Seattle recently parted ways with their President of Hockey Operations, Ron Francis, who had been with the Kraken since their inception.
