The 2026 MLB regular season was a frustrating one for the Blue Jays, who remained within spitting distance of one of the American League wildcard spots after an impressive August, and also owing to the rather mediocre campaigns for all but a handful of teams (the same scenario unfolded over in the National League). So is Toronto as “bad” as their record is? Probably not, but in a bottom-line business, your win-loss record is the bottom line. Injuries to key players are always a factor, but that’s always been a part of the sports equation. And it didn’t help that the 2025 American League Champions were one of the worst teams when it came to generating offence this past season. The Jays are looking to close out this month on a winning note, and get ready for spring training a mere four-and-a-half months from now.

Chicago Cubs at Boston Red Sox
After six months of baseball, we have arrived at the end of the 2026 Major League Baseball regular season. Final day of action features an intriguing matchup of two classic teams who are both preparing to enter the postseason as wildcard invites. For the longest time (decades!!!), these two clubs were associated with never winning The Big One. That all changed when the Red Sox roared back from a 3-0 games deficit against the hated Yankees in the 2004 postseason, and then proceeded to go all the way and win the World Series. And did it again in 2007, 2013 and 2018. The Cubs finally won it all in 2016; Bill Murray is still smiling. This time around, both teams are competitive, but won’t be considered the favourites in a field that includes the Braves, Rays, and defending World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers. On to the post-season…

Tuesday, September 29th – THE 2026 MLB POST-SEASON BEGINS
The contenders remain standing, all focused on becoming the 2026 World Series Champions. Can the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers be dethroned? Can the impressive Milwaukee Brewers get back to the World Series for the first time since 1982? The Braves, Phillies, Cubs, Rays, Yankees, and Red Sox (amongst others) will have a say in that.
